If we believe that God created the earth and that it was good, and that The Fall has corrupted the world, leading to the evil that is evident around us, then we are justified in asking “What is God doing about this?” That is where Redemption comes in. But it is not just those other guys that need God’s redemption, it is you and it is me – every one of us has sinned and needs redemption.
Christians have surrendered the platform of the civil society to those who do not esteem the values and principles of the Bible, upon which our nation was founded. It is inevitable that our society will continue to move steadily away from those values, declining in civic virtue, unless Christians once again embrace this platform.
Recently I saw a post on social media in which the writer opined that he did not see that the self-evident truths of the Declaration of Independence were in fact self-evident. While the truth that God has endowed men and women with unalienable rights is self-evident to those of us with a Biblical Worldview, as it was to the Founders, it is not self-evident to those that are influenced by the secular, or any other, worldview.
